Care Guide
Taking proper care of your E-Foil is essential to ensure its longevity, optimal performance, and safety. Follow these guidelines to maintain your E-Foil in excellent condition.
Assembly and Handling
- Proper Assembly: Follow the instructions carefully when assembling your E-Foil. Ensure all components are securely fastened.
- E-Foil Base Installation: When installing the base, screw with caution to avoid damaging the E-Foil base.
- Handle with Care: When transporting the board, place hands on the handle and foil mast. Avoid holding the motor and propeller section to prevent damage.
Operation Guidelines
- Correct Usage: Operate your E-Foil within the proper guidelines. Avoid using it in extreme weather conditions.
- Avoid Obstacles: Be mindful of submerged obstacles and shallow waters to prevent damage to the foil and propeller.
- Safe Riding: Always wear a personal flotation device (PFD) and follow local water safety regulations.
- Waterproof Performance: Do not leave the E-Foil in the water when not in use, as this may affect its waterproof performance or damage the motor.
- Secure Plugs and ports: Ensure that the plugs are securely tightened before entering the water. Check the ports for debris or water before and after using the E-Foil.
- Small Spark: It’s normal to see a small spark when connecting the board to the battery. This occurs as the positive and negative electrodes connect.
- Remote Control Trigger: If the remote control trigger is stuck, clean any foreign matter.
- Safety Distance: For safety, stay at least 20 meters away from others when foiling.
- Falling Safety: If you are about to fall, jump to the sides of the E-Foil to avoid injury.
Post-Use Maintenance
- Rinse Thoroughly: After each use, rinse the board, foil, and all components (NOT THE BATTERY!) with fresh water to remove salt, sand, and debris. Pay special attention to the propeller and motor area. This ensures no corrosion build up especially after use in salt water.
- Dry Properly: Allow all parts to dry completely before storage to prevent corrosion and mold. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe down the components.
- Battery Care: Remove the battery and store it in a cool, dry place. Avoid leaving it in direct sunlight or near heat sources.
Battery Care
-
Regular Charging: Charge the battery once every 3 months to at least 60%.
-
Supervised Charging: Always supervise the battery when charging. Charge the battery in a cool, outdoor environment. Ensure the charger’s fan is on and give it breaks if it overheats.
- Indoor Storage: Store the battery indoors in a cool environment.
- Temperature Range: When charging, keep the battery's temperature between 0°C and 45°C. During operation, cool it if it exceeds 60°C. It will shut down automatically at 65°C.
- Operating Voltage: Maintain the voltage between 40V and 58.8V. For a full charge, reach 58.5V - 58.8V.
- Battery Life: To extend battery life, avoid draining it to 0%.
Storage
- Proper Storage Environment: Store your E-Foil in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Ensure it’s stored in a stable position to prevent tipping or falling.
- Avoid Sun Exposure: Stand the E-Foil upright and avoid long-term sun exposure when not in use to prevent damage.
- Lid Compartment: Avoid opening the lid compartment more than 90 degrees.
Routine Maintenance
- Inspect Fasteners: Regularly check and tighten all screws, bolts, and other fasteners to ensure they remain secure. Check bolts for corrosion.
- Battery Health: Monitor the battery’s health and performance.
